The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forests sets the regulations for importation of animals. In general, one must obtain an animal import permit. The animal must have had the required shots and tests completed. Usually, the animal will be quarantined for at least one month. Contacts with this agency have not provided detailed regulations.
